All about our faces

Many people suffer from acne.
So if you're suffering from it now, don't worry, you are not alone!
Even models and all those celebrities are only human and have pores on their faces just like all of us
and probably get pimples and blackheads too.
Just that with make up, airbrushing in photoshop and what not.. we're usually deceived into thinking that they never ever have a single zit or scar on their faces.

So please don't ever feel suicidal over your acne scars or outbreaks!
There's always a solution to every problem, otherwise it won't be called a problem :)

This gorgeous girl on YouTube is a model, and she's also an inspiration to many.
She suffers from acne too but she doesn't let it stop her from chasing her passion as a professional model!
So you shouldn't too! :)

But of course, if you're suffering from acne and all,
it'll be ideal if you could clear some of the pimples away instead of not doing anything about it,
although having pimples doesn't mean it's the end of the world.

Pimples are actually your body's way of telling you that there's something wrong with your body.

And I saw this picture on Facebook recently which marked out several skin problem areas and what they mean,
and thought it'd be interesting to share!

So take note of your skin problem areas and work on them!

For every problem, there is a solution.
And because concealing these pimples are only a temporary solution for you to conveniently go about doing everyday things without feeling self conscious when people look at you,
it's still better to get down to the root of the problem to clear them as much as possible :)
That way, you'll get to save a lot of concealer and foundation too hehe!

Acne problems? What are they trying to tell you?

Zone 1 & 2: Digestive System — Eat less processed or junk food, reduce the amount of fat in your diet, step up water intake and opt for cooling things like cucumbers.

Zone 3: Liver — Cut out the alcohol, greasy food and dairy. This is the zone where food allergies also show up first, so take a look at your ingredients. Besides all this, do 30 minutes of light exercise every day and get adequate sleep so your liver can rest.

Zone 4 & 5: Kidneys — Anything around the eyes (including dark circles) point to dehydration. Drink up!
6: Heart — Check your blood pressure and Vitamin B levels. Decrease the intake of spicy or pungent food, cut down on meat and get more fresh air. Besides this, look into ways to lower cholesterol, like replacing “bad fats” with “good fats” such as Omegas 3 and 6 found in nuts, avocados, fish and flax seed. Also, since this area is chock-full of dilated pores, check that your makeup is not past its expiry date or is skin-clogging.

Zone 7 & 8: Kidneys — Again, drink up! And cut down on aerated drinks, coffee and alcohol as these will cause further dehydration.

Zone 9 & 10: Respiratory system — Do you smoke? Have allergies? This is your problem area for both. If neither of these is the issue, don’t let your body overheat, eat more cooling foods, cut down on sugar and get more fresh air. Also keep the body more alkaline by avoiding foods that make the body acidic (meat, dairy, alcohol, caffeine, sugar) and adding more alkalizing foods like green veggies and wheatgrass juice. Another thing that most of forget – dirty cell phones and pillow cases are two of the top acne culprits and this area is what they affect the most!

Zone 11 & 12: Hormones — This is the signature zone for stress and hormonal changes. And while both are sometimes unavoidable, you can decrease their effect by getting adequate sleep, drinking enough water, eating leafy veggies and keeping skin scrupulously clean. Another interesting point: breakouts in this area indicate when you are ovulating (and on which side).

Zone 13: Stomach — Step up the fibre intake, reduce the toxin overload and drink herbal teas to help with digestion.

Zone 14: Illness — Zits here can be a sign that your body is fighting bacteria to avoid illness. Give it a break, take a yoga class, take a nap, take time to breathe deeply, drink plenty of water and know that everything always works out!

Also, I bought several new products which I've been using recently and personally like
and would like to share with you guys! :)

Disclaimer: These are my personal reviews and I'm not paid to do them so there's no biasness involved! :)

First of all, it's this SKINLITE Snail Age Regenerating Multi-Step Treatment from SASA!
I love shopping at SASA because they always have all these random brands of products that sound like they could do magic on your face/ hair/ body at an affordable price
and I'm always a sucker for these things, and since it's only 2 or 3 dollars, I thought there's not harm trying! :)

Sometimes I get lucky with the products and they work for me,
but other times they kind of suck so I boycott those products forever haha!
Never try, never know!

I digress..
So I bought this SKINLITE mask because I LOVE SKINLITE'S NOSE PATCH and so it's sort of like a familiar brand to me.
I have a lot of blackheads on my nose but they don't come out easy.
And among all the nose patches I've used, SKINLITE's one works the best for me!You can get it at SASA as well, just wait for those buy 2 get 1 free promotions to stock up cause it's more worth it hahah

Okay, back to the snail mask!
I've read up about the benefits of snail-related skincare products before so when I saw this SKINLITE mask,
I decided to try it!
They had a buy 2 get 1 free promo and it was about $2 each if I didn't remember wrongly.

This really isn't recommended..
but I actually ALWAYS squeeze the zits on my face because it irks me real bad
when I can see those unsightly bumps staring at me from my reflection :@
But squeezing them causes my face to be "injured" and end up with numerous red marks
and it usually takes few days or a week to heal cause my skin hates me like that.

Just last night, I squeezed those bumps again and after washing my face I applied this snail mask for awhile before I went to bed.
When I woke up this morning, the red marks were surprisingly faint, and close to nothing at all!
Plus the bumps were flattened so I could easily look like I have pretty skin with just BB cream :)

So I'm pretty sure the mask works for me and will definitely go back to SASA to stock up on it hehe!

What’s so appetizing about slime? In 2006, Chilean farmers reportedly noticed visibly smoother skin after handling snails they were breeding for the French food market. Packed with glycolic acid and elastin, a snail’s secretion protects its own skin from cuts, bacteria, and powerful UV rays, making mother nature’s gooeyness a prime source for proteins that eliminate dead cells and regenerate skin.

The second product is the Garnier 2 in 1 Tinted Pimple Roll On which Qiuqiu advertised for on B.B. before.
I'm quite a fangirl so I will usually buy whatever my favourite bloggers advertise for haha!

The coverage of this product is awesome and the pimple gets concealed under the product TOTALLY.
Only sad part is that the shade of it is too dark for me and it will look like I have uneven skin tone if I apply this out :(

So for me, I usually apply this at home, like a pimple cream :)
I really like it because it treats my pimples (it has HerbaSoothe complex and active drying ingredient which works to soothe and dry pimples in 24 hours) while concealing it at the same time
so as long as I don't see my pimples in the mirror, I won't go touch it and it will heal faster!

The third product is the Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector Daily All-In-One B.B. Cream which Xiaxue advertised for :p

I find the coverage of this product quite light, because I'm very used to spamming tons of foundation to cover up all my acne scars and other flaws.
But I'll usually apply this on days when I don't need thick make up or don't feel like choking up my skin,
like when I had to take a 6 hour coach ride when I went to Genting! :)
I'd say the coverage is about 60% if you get (acne) scarring easily like me, which is good enough considering that it feels light and allows your skin to breathe!

The last product for this post isn't really for your skin, but it's still a product which I bought and liked haha!
It's the Rumpy Plumpy! Lip Plumper :)

I've always heard about lip plumpers hurting like a bitch
and I've always wanted to try and get a kick out of feeling my lips burn (sounds a bit sadistic.. I know) from lip plumpers LOL!

So when I saw this extremely cute packaged lip plumper from SASA, I knew I had to get it!

Honestly, it doesn't really work for me as a lip plumper.

But it smells yummy, like orange chocolate on my lips and it makes me crave for candies,
and would probably make kissing me a sweeter experience ;) hahah
Applying it just feels like regular lip gloss, minimal tingling sensation (No burning sensation? Noooooo!! T~T LOL sadist), and doesn't really plump up my lips.

But overall I still like it a lot cause it's not glittery like my other lipglosses and it makes my lips look healthy and not chapped and gross :)

Oh yes, and I've also promised a Rachel K products review and giveaway, I haven't forgetten about it and will do soon!

But for today, I have another giveaway :)

I chose a set of 3 each because sometimes we all have best friends in threes.... or is that just me? :/
And you can share it with your best friends if you win!

I was packing my room recently and realised that I am too kiasu and stocked up on too much of each product that I like

I also recently went for a Glycolic Acid Peel treatment with Huixian, sponsored by TDF, under Dr Tan Kian Teo at Skin Physicians.
You can check out their Facebook page and also grab a FREE sample: http://www.facebook.com/TDFsg

From what I understand, Glycolic acid peel treatment is meant to remove the older outer surface of the skin.
And unlike usual misconceptions that acid peels damage your skin, it actually revitalizes it and stimulates the production of new and healthy skin!
But you can only do this maybe once a month or so to give your skin time to renew itself :)

What I like best about the doctor is that he's not pushy in asking me to sign any packages or sell me anything,
and he's very patient and answered my doubts, even when I kept asking him stupid questions like
"If I don't poke my pimples will it disappear by itself? What if I don't poke it and it still stays there?"
:x

Getting the TDF Glycolic Acid Peel treatment done only took the doctor about 5 to 7 minutes (sounds like I'm waiting for a taxi booking lol)!
Dr Tan first applied the glycolic acid peel, which felt a little tingling and left it on for a few minutes,
and then he applied a neutralizer to neutralize it
and then I was told to wash my face and it was done!

While washing my face, I could instantly feel that my face was a little softer and looked brighter!
I was quite amazed but the doctor says this isn't the full effect of what the treatment can do for me yet,
and with regular treatments, the skin will look more radiant :)

Here's a before and after treatment of my face!

As you can see, I have some self-inflicted scars (from squeezing the zits lol)
and the doctor says the treatment will soften the scars and it will fall off after a few days.
A few days have passed and the major scars have indeed fallen off!
My skin's not perfect yet (obviously) but it's definitely slightly better than before considering it's only one treatment!

This treatment is recommended for people who have a lot of acne scars on their faces and would like to lighten those bothersome marks.
I don't think this treatment has effect on existing pimples,
but Skin Physicians does offer pimple treatments if you're interested :)
