If you haven't already heard of Glamping, it simply means glam + camping.
Think IG worthy tentage with a cosy interior set up, full of fairy lights, and packed with #roomgoals decorations.
Located at East Coast Park, http://glampingcity.com/ lets you glamp fuss-free as they provide a picnic table set up, comfy clean pillow & bedsheets, a cooler box, a portable fan for the tent with spare batteries, and Wifi in their lounge!
5 things you must bring
1. Insect Repellant
While we had no bug problems during our glamping session, I'm generally a very kiasi (scared die) person afraid of bugs, and I spammed insect repellant the moment we settled down plus pasted mosquito patches around the tentage's entrance HAHAH!
But of course I removed them gently (so as not to damage anything) when we left.
2. Mineral Water / Drinks
While an ice box with a fresh pack of ice is provided in your tent, there are no drinks provided, so I'll highly recommend bringing a few bottles along.
Especially when you've just walked a distance in the heat searching for your tent and finally unpacked your stuff.
The last thing you'll want to do is leave your tent again in the heat, in search of shops selling water.
3. Picnic Food / Snacks
If your tent is situated near the public toilet like ours (super convenient especially at night when you need to pee lol), there's a chance the F&B places are a distance away.
There are some mobikes near our tent so we were pretty lucky we didn't have to walk, but there's no guarantee that they'll always be there.
For the hardcore glampers, preparing your own IG worthy picnic food would definitely add to the overall experience.
Otherwise, you can always order from the pros (like https://www.instagram.com/enjoue.sg), or just grab a quick takeaway!
4. Portable Chargers
If you're someone who can't live without the internet, WhatsApping your friends, posting photos on IG etc, you'll definitely NEED to bring a portable charger or two as there are no power points to charge your phones/ laptop.
Plus the view is great! Not something we wake up to everyday. Worth taking a few (or a lot of) photos!
But if you're lazy to bring it along, you can also take this as a good chance to avoid all the phone calls, emails and texts about work haha!
5. Body Wipes / Wet Wipes
I personally feel that this is really important because no matter how comfortable the fan provided is, glamping is still an outdoors thing, and you'll definitely feel sticky or perspire at least a little.
So if you're the type who's mood is ruined by feeling sticky or sweaty, and yet don't want to be going for a shower every few hours, body wipes would really help!
Some other stuff you may wish to bring along:
Sparklers - just some old school fun without your smart phones
Speaker - to play romantic music while you enjoy your meal while admiring the sunset
Laptop - to watch a midnight movie
Have fun on your glamping trip!
